The Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) is responsible for educating coaches to lead and develop excellence in ski racing.
The CSCF Race Coach 1 course provides an understanding of ski racing technique through the development of your own race skills, practice coaching and safety considerations. The course includes:
- free ski and gate drills for Slalom and Giant Slalom
- teaching and learning principles
- planning a day
- ethical decision making
You will need to complete an ePrep Internet module and you will also be assessed on your ability to demonstate free skiing skills.
Upon successful completion of the course, you can be hired by a club or ski school to work with people (generally up to 12 years old) under the direction of a more experienced certified coach.
