csia/casi freestyle and cscf race courses

Starting Winter 2009/10, our trainees will have the option to do a freestyle or race module during the ski or snowboard instructor courses:

The freestyle programs allow successful candidates to teach in the terrain park and these certifications will make you more employable for ski schools. The CSCF coaching course (race) would be available to those who are not interested in freestyle terrain or manouvers. These courses are all approximately 3 days in length and can be run during the course.

What isn't included in the package:

The packages for our ski and snowboard instructor courses do not include:

  • ski and snowboard equipment (although a Helly Hansen jacket is provided)
  • the CSIA/CASI Level 2 examination fee on the Canadian courses which is payable locally in resort (approx CAD$500-600)
  • insurance (although we do supply details of a winter sports policy that you can take)
  • your daily lunches
  • food at weekends on some courses

However, food provision does vary from one resort/accommodation to another. For example, Whistler includes hearty breakfasts, afternoon tea and evening meals 6 days a week and Castle Mountain includes breakfasts and meals 7 days a week, or even a self-catering option.

the important elements of the package

The important part of the package is the standard of ski & snowboard instructor training that's provided on our courses. We use the best instructors from the ski and snowboard schools at Whistler Blackcomb and Lake Louise, and the Cardrona Instructor Training Centre.

All of the instructors are genuine and professional in what they do and they love teaching on the International Academy ski and snowboard instructor training courses. This is where you get your monies value. There is no other company that exceeds the quality of instruction you get with the International Academy. Why do we have such a good pass rate? It’s because of these guys.

Another important aspect of the package is the accommodation in the resorts and the food provided. If you're going to be spending up to 3 months in a resort, we believe that it's important for you to have somewhere comfortable and convenient to stay.
