course summary

Our 6 week programme on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier at Kaprun is run in partnership with Ski Dome Oberscheider, Kaprun’s largest ski school. This is a top training programme for skiers who can at least do basic parallel turns on intermediate terrain. The programme is also open to snowboarders.

Ski Dome Ski & Snowboard School


Through 28 days of high end training and exams, this programme will lead you to the official Austrian qualification of "Skilehrer Anwärter" enabling you to teach in Austrian Ski Schools and all around the world. This course provides the ultimate opportunity for you to learn and improve your skiing through some of Austria's top pros who ski and snowboard on Kitzsteinhorn Glacier up to 10 months a year!

All the trainers are professional, full time Austrian instructors who have the highest level of national ski instructor certification, theoretical knowledge and speak fluent English.

train, qualify and start working earlier!

As this course takes place on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier from October through to November, you will be certified and ready to work at the beginning of the ski season. Ski Dome Oberscheider can offer jobs after the course and the 3 variations are as follows:

  • 10 instructors at or around Kaprun area for the full season
  • 10 instructors starting 10th of February for at least 2 weeks + 24th of March for at least 2 weeks
  • 20 instructors for the half term period, week starting 17th of February

Week 1: Mon 15 – Fri 19 Oct: 5 days training with Sat & Sun off
Week 2: Mon 22 – Fri 26 Oct: 5 days training with Sat & Sun off
Week 3: Mon 29 Oct – Fri 02 Nov: 5 days training with Sat & Sun off
Week 4: Mon 05 – Fri 09 Nov: 5 days training with Sat & Sun off
Week 5: Mon 12 – Tues 13 Nov: 2 days training
Wed – Friday off
Week 6: Sat 17 – Thurs 22 Nov: 6 days Federation / Theory Lessons / Exams
Friday 23 Nov: Day off
Sat 24 Nov 2012: Course ends / Departure

As part of the programme, a German language course is included for basic conversation. There is no need to know German before the course, but you must be motivated to learn the basics during the course as it will be part of the exams.

The German lessons may be held on some of your days off but there will be days when you are completely free too. Learning the basics of German will provide additional benefit to you.

additional activities

Extra sessions including video analysis, ski servicing and practical first aid sessions with ski patrol can also be organised.

Ski rental through SkiDome is available with access to all the best and most modern kit at a good rate.

accommodation

You will stay at the Pension Mullauer in Schuttdorf, which is an outlying part of Zell am See. The accommodation has 2, 3 and 4 bedded rooms which all have ensuite facilities. If you would like to have a single room, please contact us on 029 2066 0200 for prices.

Breakfasts, evening meals are provided 6 days a week and packed lunches are also provided for your training days on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.
