For our Whistler 11 week ski and snowboard courses, the Level 2 exam fee IS included in the price, along with many other course inclusions and social activities. The Level 2 exam fee is also included in the 6 week ski course price.

* Paid work placements can be provided through SkiBound back at a European resort over February half term and / or Easter holidays (subject to passing the Level 2).

alta vista chalet: catered chalet option

In addition to the 2* and 3* condo accommodation options shown above, you do have the option to stay at the Alta Vista Chalet for the 11 week ski or snowboard courses which start in November and February.

The Alta Vista Chalet is a really spacious and comfortable 24 person chalet and breakfasts and home-cooked hearty evening meals will be provided for you six days a week by a chalet host. You will be well fed both before and after your day on the slopes, meaning that you don’t have to worry about anything.

Our ski and snowboard instructor courses have been running at Whistler Blackcomb for over a decade and now operate in partnership with YES Tours. We offer an unrivalled ski or snowboard instructor course in Whistler in that:

Whistler is widely regarded as one of the best ski resorts in the world having also been a venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Our programmes will enable you to enjoy everything that Whistler has to offer and the opportunity to gain your Level 1 & 2 instructor qualifications through the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) or Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI). The Level 1 qualifies you to teach children (ages 12 and under) and beginners. The Level 2 certification will take you one step higher allowing you to teach skiers up to intermediate parallel skill level.

3 week whistler ski or snowboard course

Our 3 week ski & snowboard courses in Whistler lead to the CSIA / CASI Level 1 certification which will enable you to teach beginners. The package includes the Level 1 exam fee, injury prevention, equipment information, ski tuning & boot fitting, accommodation, video analysis, store & gym discount and social functions.

4 week whistler university programme

The Whistler Blackcomb University Program (WUP) is a new 4 week ski or snowboard instructor training course where you can gain a Level 1 ski (CSIA) or snowboard (CASI) certification and then step into a guaranteed job offer from Whistler Blackcomb once the program is completed.

In order to be elegible, you need to be approved for a Canadian working visa, be over 18 years or over, commit to the full 2012/13 season (16 November 2012 through to 29 April 2013) and pass an interview and the Level 1 course.

The WUP at a price of £3625 includes a guaranteed job offer with Whistler Blackcomb, staff accommodation, Whistler Blackcomb season pass, resort rep available 24/7, 20+ hours of professional training per week, level 4 instructors only, small groups to maximise your training, one on one coaching sessions, CSIA or CASI Level 1 (Level 2 optional add on), lift line priority, video analysis, social events and après ski and lots more. 6 week intermediate internship

The Intermediate Internship will take skiers through the necessary training in order for you to gain your CSIA Level 1 & 2 certification within a 6 week timeframe. For snowboarders, the 6 week programme will lead to the CASI Level 1 certification.

This intensive ski instructor course in Whistler will help you to improve your interpersonal skills, become a better communicator and increase your technical knowledge as you advance your own skiing to new heights.

You will participate in the CSIA Level 1 & 2 training / certification, an injury prevention course, equipment information seminar, a customer service & communication presentation, ski tuning and boot fitting workshop and mountain safety training.

The package includes your accommodation, Whistler Blackcomb season pass, video analysis, snowmobiling trip, store & gym discount and social functions.

paid work placements

For the 11 week ski or snowboard instructor courses in Whistler starting in November, we can offer work placements with SkiBound back at a European over the February half term and / or Easter holidays.

SkiBound will arrange your flights (between the UK and Europe), transfers, accommodation, food, lift pass, ski/snowboard equipment hire (if needed) and pay you a weekly wage. Last year, our successful trainees on the Whistler ski instructor courses were placed in resorts including Saas Fee, St Moritz, Leysin and St Anton. You do need to pass the Level 2 to be eligible for a placement.

As placements may be limited, we strongly recommend that you put down a booking deposit on the November course as soon as possible. We need to inform SkiBound of the people in advance (subject to positions still being available) so contact us on 029 2066 0200 if you are interested.

If you don’t want to do the placement, you can simply do the full 11 week ski or snowboard instructor course in Whistler.

Alta Vista Chalet with breakfasts and evening meals provided 6 days a week (places for Feb 2012 course limited). For courses over the 2012/13 winter season, food will be provided at the catered chalet 4 days a week.

The Alta Vista Chalet in Whistler is a spacious and comfortable chalet which can accommodate up to 24 people doing the instructor programme together. It has a superb location on Archibald Road, close to Whistler's Alta Lake and 2km's from Whistler Gondola Building. The village and base of the mountains are within walking distance or you can get the resort bus.

The Alta Vista Chalet has heated floors, a jacuzzi hot tub, two large desks with fantastic views from the upper BBQ deck, a spacious living room and dining area, and all bedrooms are en suite with heated floors. The chalet has a homelike feel and finished to a high specification.
