If you have a keen interest in scuba diving or you are a recreational diver planning to work towards your professional dive qualifications, our dive courses with Pro Dive Cairns could be just the ticket you are looking for.
padi divemaster and instructor courses
Our programmes are extremely flexible in that they run all year round and cater for people from any level or experience (even beginners starting off at Open Water level). Therefore, you could undertake any of the following dive courses depending on your current level:
- Open Water to Divemaster (50 dives over 31 training days)
- Advanced Open Water to Divemaster (40 dives over 26 training days)
- Divemaster course only (20 dives over 17 training days)
The PADI Divemaster is the first level of the PADI professional ratings. This elite qualification allows you to supervise recreational diving activities, either boat or land based, and to work as an instructional assistant on an PADI courses.
- Open Water to Instructor (55 dives over 47 training days)
- Advanced Open Water to Instructor (46 dives over 43 training days)
- Rescue Diver to Instructor (35 dives over 40 training days)
- Divemaster to Instructor (25 dives over 35 training days)
The PADI Instructor course enables you to turn your passion for diving into a career. You must be 18 years old to start a dive course, complete the PADI indemnity forms and complete a medical examination.
PADI 5* dive centre:
All of our certification courses are run through Pro Dive Cairns, a PADI 5* dive centre with the best boats, the best trips and the best dive sites. Pro Dive Cairns have an excellent reputation for delivering PADI courses and producing well trained dive instructors, and they are proud to have a high candidate success rate.
Depending on the course you wish to do and number of dives you currently have, you may need to undertake extra dives in order to reach the minimum number of dives for that certification. We can offer 3 day (2 night) trips which would enable you to complete 11 dives per trip. These dive trips to top up your dives are available at an additional cost, as well as any additional accommodation on shore that you may need.

One of the "must do" things in Queensland is to dive the Great Barrier Reef which spans 2300 km along the north-eastern coast of Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef is made up of approximately 2900 individual reefs and 71 coral cays and its ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on the planet. This includes approximately 400 different species of hard and soft corals and 1500 species of fish.
Our dive programmes take place at some of the best known and exclusive reefs and dive sites off Cairns including Flynn, Milln, Thetford and Pellowe, chosen for their abundance and variety of marine life.
